Description of Project
This RUSSIAN-DANISH PILOT PROJECT WITHIN THE PROGRAMME OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEVELOPMENT focuses on concept development for Solid Household Waste Collection, Separation and Processing.
The main sustainability objectives are that the project findings will be used by the administration of Gusev Municipality in the further realization of a cutting-edge concept of solid household waste management, and that the use of recycled materials will help cut expenses on collection and processing of solid household waste.
The project findings should be made available for other administrations of Kaliningrad Oblast.
Within this framework the suggested main areas of specific cooperation between the municipalities of Gusev and Odense are:
- How to organise information campaigns to improve public awareness and behaviour in relation to solid waste sorting and recycling
- How to organise the collection and sorting of recyclable solid waste fractions at collection points in the city
